| Rasmia Showamra is a 48-year-old Palestinian mother of six, with children ranging from ages 26 to 14. She lives in a West Bank refugee camp called Qadura. One of Rasmia’s children is in university, one has graduated from high school, and the others are currently in high school. Rasmia, herself, never went to school and is illiterate, but she owns a mini market which her husband helps her run. The mini market brings in approximately $1,000 a month and is the only source of income for the family. |
